Buhle’s is a well-written, sober–perhaps too sober–and thoughtful, yet also an enthusiastic book. Fraina/Lewis Corey (1892-1953) and the Decline of Radicalism in the United States. ![]() Indeed, the dominant pessimism of the spirit of most present-day socialists is summed up in his unavoidably long sub-title Louis C. Buhle reflects the tragedy of late 20th century Western socialism. That, at bottom, is the Spirit of the Master Class, Fraina/Lewis Corey (1892-1953) and the Decline of Radicalism in the United States(Humanities Press, New Jersey, 1995), 192 pages.
